Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born
August 26 in 2002. He is popularly known as Lil Tecca. The release of
"Ransom," his 2019 single, allowed him to become a popular star. The
song was part of his debut mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019), which
reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also featured singles
Love Me and Did It Again. The album he released as his debut"Virgo
World" (2020), debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 10. It also featured
the Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs "Dolly", and "When
You Down". His second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was released in August
2021 . It included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me".
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was a son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born on
August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was raised in Springfield
Gardens a neighborhood of Queens and later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island.
Sharpe was a child who had plans to be a basketball player, however he switched
his focus to music when he was 12. Sharpe attended Lawrence High School. Tecca,
nine years old at the at the time, was rapping with his peers using his Xbox to
record. They would make diss tracks directed at each other, one of which was
posted to SoundCloud some time ago, but has since been removed. The singer initially
didn't intend to pursue a musical career, but he dreamed of becoming an NBA
superstar. He began to pursue music more seriously when he dropped his interest
in basketball during middle school. His debut single, "Tectri", which
became popular in early 2017 was made in collaboration and released by Lil
Gummybear. Other tracks by Tecca include "Callin" as well as
"Tectri". His hit single "Ransom," which was first uploaded
to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 of 2019, marked
the beginning of the meteoric rise of Tecca. The track reached number 4 on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart and has received more than 990 million plays on Spotify
and over 300 million views on YouTube.
